311 Biography:

311 was formed back in 1990 in Omaha, Nebraska by 5 friends (Nick Hexum singer/guitarist, S.A. Martinez/singer, Tim Mahoney/guitarist, Chad Sexto/drummer & P-Nut/bass) whose common passion for music & life eventually linked them together. After a few local gigs, the band moved to Los Angeles, where they signed with a deal with Capricorn Records in 1991. Since that time, 311 have released several albums, including 1992's Music, 1993's Grassroots, & 1995's 311, which reached number 12 on the album chart, selling 3 million copies worldwide. In 1996, following a year of non/stop touring, the band released “Enlarged”, a home video of live performances taken from a few shows in Kansas City & Denver, as well behind the scenes footage of their life on the road. That video has also been certified platinum in sales which is a strong testament to the unique relationship the band has with its fans. In 1997, “Transistor”, a double CD, was released, & the group mounted its most ambitious tour yet, a stretch of worldwide concerts intended to enlarge the band's already large & loyal fan base. “Live” followed in 1998, & 1 year later, 311 returned with “Soundsystem”.

The band jumped to “Volcano for From Chaos”, which appeared in summer 2001, & followed that with “Evolver” 2 years later. Released in July 2004 was the bands Greatest Hits comp, it included all of their hit singles, some new tracks, & the band's reggae style cover of the Cure's "Love Song," originally from the soundtrack to Drew Barrymore & Adam Sandler's 50 First Dates.
