Gwen Stefani Biography:

Gwen Stefani Concert

A young and active Gwen Stefani moved into the music spotlight in 1987 as the sexy lead singer for the band No Doubt. One of her main hits in the '90s with the cross-mixed group of ska-punk and new wave fashion was a solitary called "Don't Speak," one of the tracks from No Doubt's Grammy chosen third album Tragic Kingdom. The video for "Don't Speak," a have fun on inner jealousy in a band, accumulated plenty of play on MTV, giving the group and its lead singer a chance to reach even more fans.

Gwen Stefani was born and raised in the impressive sunshine of Southern California. Others shared musical talent in her family, including her brother Eric Stefani. When he and a friend, singer John Spence, put together a new band called No Doubt in 1987, of course Gwen Stefani was brought in as co-singer with Spence. That same year, Spence ended his life by suicide, leaving a saddened teenage Gwen to step up to the microphone alone. Throughout those first hard years in the group, playing gigs where ever they could, Gwen Stefani somehow managed to finish high school and go into college without missing a beat. Other members of No Doubt are guitarist Tom Dumont, drummer Adrian Young, and bassist Tony Kanal. The latter would turn out to be Gwen's love interest for a number of years.

In 1992, after signing with Inters cope Records, No Doubt released its self-titled debut album. When the record label didn't similar to the numbers that came in from that first album, they wouldn't agree to back a second. Refusing to give in, even though her brother Eric left, gwen stefanie and the other band members put up money of their own in 1995 to record a sophomore album called The Beacon Street Collection. Stefani kept up the hard work, and soon she and the band had Inters cope’s full attention again, and were working on another album, Tragic Kingdom. The old saying concerning the third time being the charm, proved true, and there was nothing tragic to be found in this third contribution. The Grammy nominated album hit number one on the Billboard charts, and three of its tracks charted as well, including "Spider webs" and "Just a Girl." Another full-length album, Return of Saturn, appeared in 2000 with Gwen Stefani still captivating her spot in front at the microphone, where she seems to shine her best.

Before Gwen Stefani discovered she could write songs, Gwen Stefani was looking forward to a life of marriage, children, and white picket fences. When her brother introduce her to ska and new wave music, it set off a chain of events that would finally lead to millions of albums sold and a Madonna-sized public image that comprehensive past music and into the worlds of film, fashion, and technology.

Born and raised in Fullerton, CA, Gwen Stefani had a musical epiphany at the age of 17. Gwen Stefani had fallen in love with the Madness and Selector records her brother, Eric Stefani, was playing continually. Seeing Fishbone, the Untouchables, and other bands involved in Los Angeles' ska revitalization scene only reinforced her interest in music, so Gwen Stefani was more than ready when her brother asked her to join a ska band he was forming with a friend named John Spence. Gwen Stefani at first shared lead vocals with Spence but in December of 1987 he committed suicide, leaving the band -- now called No Doubt -- with an unsure future. According to numerous interviews with the band members after their breakthrough, Gwen Stefani was the glue that held No Doubt together during these hard times, pushing the group to keep trying. Gwen Stefani was also lovingly involved with the band's bass player, Tony Kanal, by this occasion.
